Zoom-Type Touch-Typing Course
Learn to Type Fast — Without Staring at a Screen
Whether you're a parent teaching a child, a homeschooler building foundational skills, or an adult who's been hunting and pecking for years — Zoom-Type gets you touch-typing in as little as 5 days.
Why touch-typing still matters
Smartphones handle casual texting — but school papers, college applications, job applications, coding, writing, and office work all still happen on a keyboard. The person who types 80 words per minute has a real advantage over the person typing 30.
Why Zoom-Type works when other programs don't
- No computer required — paper replicas of keyboards mean zero screen time and zero distraction
- Spaced repetition — letters are introduced and reinforced in a scientifically sequenced order
- Right-brain learning — engages both hemispheres, especially powerful for children under age 8 when neural pathways are still forming
- Real words from day one — not games, not drills — actual typing practice that builds real speed
- Two skills locked in fast: each finger learns its key, and the brain maps every letter's location — so you never look down again
Teach yourself how to type in 5 days instead of wasting all year on it. Includes lots of English typing word practice using the most commonly used words in the English language. Once you've retrained your brain to type each letter with its assigned finger without looking at the keyboard, your typing speed and accuracy will improve dramatically.
Zoom-Type is a revolutionary breakthrough in teaching touch-typing FAST by using the right brain. Hundreds of quick snapshots and a musical finger march get you seeing, saying, and tapping the correct keys with the correct fingers in just 5 days! (5 minutes, 5 times a day.) Good for ages 4 to 94. Totally portable — no computer necessary. This may be the only right-brain typing course on the market.
We have sold this typing course at educational conventions nationally since 1992. For just $0.29 you can also select the option here for a downloadable 15-minute MP4 video of vintage demos of young children touch-typing this way 30 years ago. If they could do it, so can you!
This typing course is unique in three ways
(1) Spaced repetition — five-minute lessons, several times a day! Away with hour-long drudgery! Rapid-fire quick imprints of the autonomic nervous system gets the job done.
(2) Right brain — uses the picture side of the brain, not just the left side as other typing methods do. With Zoom-Type, children subconsciously learn where the letters live, not just what they are.
(3) Splintered skills — you learn each skill separately in small increments, then when you put them together all the brain has to do is jump the synapses between already-acquired mini-skills. The brain is tricked into thinking the whole task is super easy.

Wondering which option to choose?
Two steps to automatically save 10%: (1) select your book variant (glued or spiral bound) and (2) select one of the audio variants (audio CD or downloadable MP3 files). After you've ordered the audio CD you may download those files too.
Whatever you do — if you don't already have the book, order the book.
If you want the audio to talk you through the program, choose the audio CD if you like a physical disk, or the 7 downloadable MP3 audio files. The audio is targeted for young children; adults can learn Zoom-Type without it (you might only want Track 7). Note: the narrator refers to Snapshot Typing — that was our original name before the content was bound into a volume and became Zoom-Type.
About the optional color-coding
The colored dots are explained on the intro page across the binding to the left of page 1a. You can add colors to the practice keyboard near the end of the book. The audio and coloring are most helpful for very young students and may not be necessary for older ones. An explanation of adding the colors is on page 1b.
Please email us if you have further questions. Your key to optimal success with Zoom-Type is spaced, frequent repetition — ideally 5 sessions of about 5 minutes each throughout the day.
Many free online typing tests and typing games are available. We're happy to introduce you to our competition because we're convinced our program is the best — the difference is the right-brain approach and learning away from the keyboard first. Check out these online typing tests and games. If your speed is too slow, Zoom-Type will retrain your fingers quickly!

What customers are saying
Shawn in British Columbia wrote: "I am impressed several years later how well my daughters learned to keyboard as a result of learning Zoom-Type."
Linda in Norfolk, Virginia wrote: "I was homeschooled growing up and learned typing using your program. My brother was adamant about not having to do the course — but it was definitely worth it, and we both learned to type perfectly without looking at the screen. Two of my other siblings have used it as well."

Customer questions answered
Q: Can Zoom-Type undo bad fingering habits from years of self-taught typing?
A: Yes — using the Zoom-Type method will undo bad fingering. Work through all the practice at the back of the book. For an extra boost, cover the letters on your keyboard with white dots so there's no benefit from looking!
Q: Does the student need someone to flip the pages, or can they use the book independently?
A: Students of most any age can turn the pages themselves. It's easier in the spiral-bound version (sold here on our site) than the glue-bound version (sold on Amazon). Most people choose the spiral-bound for the ease of flipping pages faster.
