I saw a little worm: A darling song to teach little ones

I saw a little worm  (slip pointer finger up through other hand's fist)

Climbing up a tree   (wiggle it around looking outward at the big wide world)

He wiggled and he giggled and he wiggled right at me  (then point it at yourself while still wiggling and still in fist)

I put him in a box  (point to palm of hand)

Stay right there I said   (wag finger at him to lecture him)

But when I opened up the box  (cup hands, then open)

A butterfly instead !  (intertwine thumbs and have both hands fly)

I couldn't make him  (point to you)

Even if I tried.  (scrunch shoulders, with palms of hands upside down, facing up  and out)

Only God in heaven  (point to heaven)

Can make a butterfly!  (interlock thumbs and fly fingers)
