Christ suffered the most extreme physical and psychological torture, simultaneously (becoming sin, and despising becoming sin, and abandonment from his co-eternal Father) at the Cross. His was the most it is possible for a mere human to bear. He was at the edge of zenith tortures of both body and mind. Anyone else's sufferings would always be less than what the Lord bore for our redemption. Incomprehensible forerunning.
