Salad dressing and chai tea recipes! :)

One of many simple pathways to better health is to replace store-bought salad dressings with ones that you make with ingredients that are welcomed at the cellular level. Our good friend Megan shared these; following them you’ll find my chai recipe that I shared with her:

Italian Dressing
1 T garlic powder
1 T onion powder
1 T raw cane sugar
2 T dried oregano
1 t ground black pepper
1/4 t thyme
1 t dried basil
1 T dried parsley
1/4 t celery seed
3/4 T salt

Tips - If some spices are not powdered, blend in coffee grinder or blender. If you don’t have all the spices, don’t worry. It tastes great anyway. smile

Mix all spices together and store in a tightly sealed container.
To prepare - whisk 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup oil, 3 T water and 2 T dry mix.

Poppy Seed Dressing
2 cups olive oil
1 cup honey
1 cup apple cider vinegar
3 Tablespoons poppy seeds
a pinch of mustard powder

Blend on high in your blender until it really thickens. What we served today, we had to dilute because it is so thick. smile It stores for a long time in the fridge.

“Ranch-like” Dressing : )
This is simply a combination of mayonnaise and salsa. We buy a “Vegenaise” (made from grape seeds) at the health food store. My sister makes her own mayo and uses that. I never measure - but I would guess that it would be about 1 cup of mayo and 1/2 - 3/4 cup salsa.

An old favorite is just -
lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
olive oil
honey
salt

Another favorite is to use -
tahini
mix with water
lemon juice
salt and spices
optional - yogurt

Chai Tea (homemade)
I make my own Chai now and it is delicious. Serve it with rice milk and a smidgeon of honey.
I mix a big pan of it on Sundays and then drink a cup of it a day…wonderful spicy warming tea…with good energy ...and great elimination from it as a bonus!

8 cups water
2 T Yerba Mate tea (loose leaf)
1/2 tsp cardamon, cinnamon, ginger, fennel
1/4 tsp clove, and nutmeg

Bring it all to a boil, and then cover and let sit for 20 minutes.
Then bring it all to a boil a second time; cover and let sit again.
Finally, strain out the spices and store the tea in two glass canning jars in the fridge.

Circumcision: To do or not to do?

One of the first decisions facing parents who have just given birth to a boy is “Do we circumcise him or not?” This is a complex issue that most of us haven’t studied too deeply before being faced with it, up close and central. Once your baby has arrived you won’t have time to study it in depth. Todd Ellison has done a marvelous job of creating a short article giving you the key issues, and it is obtainable for free, should you be interested in obtaining more objectivity to inform your decision in this regard.

It is important to make a decision as soon as possible after you know your baby is a boy, because vitamin K levels peak on his eighth day (the ideal day to do a circumcision, for health reasons) and it may take you some time to make a plan for obtaining the result that you decide is best. Medical practices tend to circumcise too soon, only a day or so after birth, when vitamin K levels are inadequate for the natural blood-clotting that promotes rapid healing of the wound. Parents who want it done would do well to schedule it for the eighth day.

Whatever you decide, time is of essence, and to not decide, means you have decided. Deciding that the person himself should make that decision about his own body when he is of age to make that choice, means you have decided that it probably won’t happen—because circumcision at a later age is a much more challenging proposition.

Here are the issues. Historically, circumcision has been done for both religious and health reasons. The burden of the article (also available in an extended form in Kindle, regular e-book and print formats) on this subject is that whatever your reason for doing it, if you chose to have your son circumcised it is important for you to know that what is currently being done in the name of circumcision is far more radical than what was originally done originally, when just the tip (the small portion of the foreskin that is “fore”) was nipped. The bottom line is that modern-day practitioners are cutting away far too much—a huge amount more than what is necessary to meet both spiritual and physical objectives of circumcision. There are a half a dozen physical benefits of a male retaining the portion of his foreskin that is not extending beyond the tip. It is important to apprise your doctor that you would prefer the less invasive route, if you conclude that that will meet the need just as well as the radical procedure. But you’ll need some information to help form conviction about that issue.

Move, baby, move….

Wanta feel better? Move, baby, move….
TWEAK your exercise via the latest research….

No matter how pristinely we eat, if we don’t exercise, all bets are off. Health is 50% eating AND 50% EXERCISE. Flushing the lymph and pumping the heart is like taking a garden hose to the inside of your body—or taking your “innards” through a car wash. What would your trash can look like if it was never hosed out?! That’s what the insides of most people’s bodies look like. Ugh. Let’s change that scenario.

Power walking is it. It is the place to BEGIN (and the place to CONTINUE), because most everyone in most any condition can begin it. Start with a power walk just around your bed, if you have to smile. Do it 3 X today, then tomorrow four…then around your house…then move it outside…and you’re off to the races of far better health.

Improvements:
I have walked regularly as a habit for a long time, but never have I achieved the results I’m achieving now by just TWEAKING that habit via the latest research.

The latest research is to work HARDER, and shorter. Think of it as spurt exercise. (Caution: begin slowly and work up to this goal by progressive and consistent increments). In other words, your goal might be two 20-minute walks a day, walked HARDER. These are potentially better than one longer one, walked at “half-mast”.

How to tweak your power walk:

1. Bend your arms at the elbows. This causes your back muscles to strengthen, to hold UP your bottom arm during the entire duration of your walk, and expands and strengthens your front chest muscles around your lungs. Experiment with walking both ways (arms down and arms up) and you’ll immediately feel the difference.

2. Open your mouth—breathe from there. This greatly expands your lungs. By the end of your walk, your neighbors will HEAR you breathe.

3. Unlock your hips. Walk with a slight Marilyn Monroe swagger. This lengthens your stride, and tightens your pelvic floor by holding your uterus and bladder in a firmer place, via increased muscle strength there. Unlock those hips.

4. Pick a portion of street or sidewalk with a slight incline to it, and walk that section over and over. The slight incline will strengthen your heart muscle and cause you to work harder. Then increase your intensity via speed as you are able.

5. Drink a half of a lemon in an 8 oz glass of water (grind your lemon, pulp, SKIN and all in the water; I add a smidgeon cayenne pepper, and stevia for sweetener) or an Emergen-C-type electrolyte packet BEFORE you go on your walk, and then follow up immediately with your protein green smoothy drink upon returning. The amino acids in the protein helps rebuild the torn/catabolic state created via the exercise. To do the most good, your body needs these building blocks IMMEDIATELY after exercise, so don’t wait. Also, it needs the electrolytes before, so it has something to fuel this exercise in the first place.

6. If you hate exercise, and have had no luck with starting a good habit with it, don’t “talk” yourself into exercise. Instead, lead with your body. Plop your feet out the front door and ask yourself if you “want to” only LATER. Get your body in position to walk…i.e. facing the street, out IN the street, heading up the hill…and it’ll “happen”. Disengage your head. Drop everything and just go do it. Don’t argue with yourself. DO, and you’ll BECOME!

(Caution for women who have just delivered a baby: allow your body a full month before attempting power walking. Your core is re-positioning and needs time to tighten and realign via the pulling power of nursing. You’re loose as a goose, til your baby “drinks” you into FIRM realignment. A veritable miracle!)

Begin power walking and you’ll LOVE it. After a good month of doing it, introduce resistance training, using only ONE-pound weights. Resistance training yields VISIBLE results, if that is what you’re after (body sculpturing, thinner waist, beautiful legs, etc.) in far less time than any other exercise. Begin with only TWO reps or you’ll be sorry. INCREMENTAL command of yourself is what you’re after. Easy does it, at first, and then…

To improve your health, clear out the congestion

Dr. Dean Ornish, a Harvard clinical Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, regularly reverses severe coronary heart disease without bypass surgery. In his book Everyday Cooking he recommends, “All oils are excluded because they are liquid fat. Even olive oil is 14 percent saturated fat and 100 perfect total fat. The more olive oil you eat, the higher your cholesterol level will rise and the more weight you will gain. If you did nothing more than exclude all oils from your diet…your cholesterol and weight decrease.”

General comments from me:
All diseases have the same root: congestion, clogging, stagnation, toxicity. It settles in the heart or the liver or the pancreas, or in the joints in the form of arthritis—wherever the individual body is weakest. Thus, the cure is the same for the basis of all diseases: change the diet, and exercise.

Get rid of the saturated fat. Sorry, advocates of the Paleo Diet: meat and dairy are full of saturated fat and acid, and offer no fiber. Those are three strikes against it. None of these problems are associated with people who make plant-based dietary choices.

Also (if you want to live longer) get rid of the simple carbohydrates: junk food, pastries, all white sugar and fruit juices, and chips. Replace them with more rice and beans to achieve that full satiated feeling. The other is knocking you around with too much sugar.

Keep in mind that all food has an emotional component, a strong one that was built by force of habit, so our minds must take hold of self-management. Just start by veering north deliberately with some grit. How you feel will be its own reward, if you do.

What’s hurting us

This blog was written to me (by me) after 25 years of a hunt for answers…

What is hurting our health?
The Standard American Diet (SAD) is hurting us. We are now the sickest country in the world. Wealth allowed us to eat large quantities of meat and dairy, while historically the huge populations of China and millions of people elsewhere in Asia ate primarily rice and veggies. The Aztecs, Mayans, Incas ate corn. The result? These people had none of the devastating diet-related diseases we see today.

What is the matter with our diet? Too much fat. The fat is cutting lesions in our arteries and is being stashed and stored in warehouses under our skin. Meat and dairy are particular culprits because they are both loaded with saturated fat.

What is the matter with meat and dairy?

One:
Meat and dairy offer no carbohydrates and no fiber, causing severe constipation. You should be having an easy peanut-butter consistency stool after nearly every meal. Do you? We think constipation is normal, because we’ve never known anything else.

Starches, fruits and veggies are loaded with both carbohydrates and fiber. Athletes have known for decades to binge on carb-loading foods, large plates of vegan spaghetti, or bowls of brown rice, sweet potatoes, beans, squash, etc., before embarking on their marathons, gymnastic meets, pole vaulting, or the like. They couldn’t do these things if their insides were bogged down with meat and cheese. They couldn’t get off the ground. Their bodies knew.

Two:
Too much fat. When you cook with meat, what do your pans feel like? How easy are they to wash up afterwards? How greasy do your hands get? Do you find that you must you use detergent to finally get the grease off your pans, or can you just do it with water? Now think about inside your body, where detergent never reaches to cut up the grease. How much water does it take to wash the grease down your sink, and to clean your sink? Are you drinking that much water? Are you drinking detergent?

Grease and fat coat your cells, making metabolic function far more sluggish, and oxygen uptake dismal, to say nothing of clogging your arteries, which in turn produces increased rates of dementia and stroke in addition to the increased likelihood of heart attacks. Your first symptoms of a heart attack will be none other than the heart attack itself. You don’t get warning symptoms. Grease is not your friend. Neither is fried grease from french fries and chips. All oils slowly kill you. There are no nutrients in any oils—they are extracted away from the nutrients that are contained in the whole plant.

Three:
Too much protein. Plant-based foods give you all the protein you need. Too much protein stockpiles and becomes the perfect luxury apartment for hosting bacteria and virus. Cysts and tumors love protein. Protein gives aflatoxins a place to roost and grow. Without protein you can eat the same toxic substances and they won’t stick around; they will just pass through your body. The problem is not the toxin, it is the host.

Four:
Too much acid. To buffer this acid, your bones get used up to neutralize the acid. Your body craves to be alkaline; it’s not optional; your body must maintain the pH within a narrow range. If your diet is loaded with meat and dairy, you, in effect, will be peeing your bones into the toilet, because the body must pull calcium (which is alkaline) from the bones to counteract the acidity of the animal products. Welcome to osteoporosis.

Conclusion:
The Atkins meat and dairy diet was a joke. Its founder looked overweight and unhealthy in the photos in his own book. After Dr. Atkins died, it transpired that he had experienced troubles with his heart over the years. Atkins had suffered a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and hypertension. Research that he paid for himself indicated that “70 percent of the people were constipated, 60 percent had bad breath, [and] many ha[d] headaches.” There were no scientific papers to corroborate his studies and no thousands of healings from cancer. Dr. Dean Ornish reported that “A major study was just published in the Annals of Internal Medicine from Harvard. In approximately 85,000 women who were followed for 26 years and 45,000 men who were followed for 20 years, researchers found that all-cause mortality rates were increased in both men and women who were eating a low-carbohydrate Atkins diet based on animal protein. However, all-cause mortality rates as well as cardiovascular mortality rates were decreased in those eating a plant-based diet low in animal protein and low in refined carbohydrates. Although this plant-based diet was called an “Eco-Atkins” diet, it’s essentially the same diet that I have been recommending and studying for more than 30 years.” The Paleo diet is just a re-packaging of this false and failed earlier diet. It loads you with too much fat, protein and acid.

Wanta get out of confusion re: food and health? Read the book, The Starch Solution, by John McDougal and his wife Mary McDougal, to finally nail why. (Not sure? Read 140+ reader reviews of it on Amazon.com.) Also, watch YouTube videos of any/all of the men below. We posted links to many very helpful online videos in an earlier blog. Go where the healing results are happening today: The Hippocrates Institute, The Gerson Institute, Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s stuff, Dr. McDougal’s stuff, Dr. Pritikin’s stuff, Dr. Esselstyne’s stuff, Dr. Colin Campbell’s stuff. You don’t even have to read every page of their books—just look at their thick appendixes in the backs of all of their books—loaded with confirming reports from scientific and medical journals.

A dozen or more doctors now know what good for us, nutritionally. Try it for just one week or so, and you will know.

Of course, everyone will eat as they wish, and always have, and you are right, God did introduce eating meat into history, as well as condone it for eating at the Passover, and at other times, as well. But here are some further considerations that enlarge the issues a bit. It is a very complex issue, even Biblically. Since large numbers of Americans are now sick and ill with the current American diet and DO want some guidance for how to get out of that sickness via natural means, we have attempted to share how some have escaped early deaths. We have offered what a dozen leading medical doctors are now agreeing upon, including Christian men like the Rev. George Malkmus of Halleluiah Acres who turned around his own case of colon cancer by changing his diet and now has recorded 1,000’s of cases of disease reversals under the influence of his ministry. Many of those people are now praising God for their deliverances. Here are some additional biblical perspectives on the subject if you would like them. If not, just skip them.

The original and best diet the Heavenly Father prescribed for us is from every seed-bearing green plant and tree (Genesis 1:29). After the Flood, He permitted man to add meat to the diet (Genesis 9:3)—but that seems to be His permissive will, not His divine intent, because starting then, the human lifespan took a distinct plunge. Some Bible students think the Father allowed meat to be added to the human diet as a means of shortening the life of man, to reduce the extent of the effects of the sinful behavior of men. We see the shortened life around us now, in our friends and acquaintances. This is not simply a matter of finding what we want to find in someone’s posting on the Internet. A recent report from Associated Press shows that, for the first time in modern history, the lifespan of some American women has shortened.

So, a prior decision is exactly what the foods are that God intended for us to eat. A notable exception to His addition of meat to the diet is the continued exclusion of pork, shellfish, and other scripturally unclean birds, fishes and animals. The Creator knew, of course, what would be the problems to human health, were men to eat the flesh of scavengers. Only recently has science revealed the many dangers of eating pig, scallops, shrimp, etc. To read a summary of these, download our free pdf on the problems of eating pork. The typical Christian response to this is to point to Acts 10:15, but this is an incorrect reading of that passage, because Acts 10:28, across the page, explains that the point was to show Peter that “I should not call any man common or unclean.” That passage is not about eating, else it would be referring to cannibalism! Similarly, when Paul writes that “I am convinced that no food is unclean in itself” (Romans 14:14), he is using the word “food”, not meat. Scripturally, not all meat is food—just as certain animal products, such as their organs, is not food, nor is rat meat food.

A person is free, under God, to eat any meat that is clean, as defined several places in scripture, including Leviticus chapter 11. But when they do so, they may be shortening their time here on earth. Currently literally millions are dying very early deaths via cancer, heart disease and diabetes, all of which have clinically been shown to be diet related. The choice is, of course, totally up to each person. And, this is not a matter of salvation, it is a matter of quality and length of life.

No matter what a reader does with this information, we are personally thrilled to get answers for our health and to finally know what actually reverses people’s disease conditions. If 700 pages of The China Study won’t do it and 5,000 and more reversals, and the results at three huge alternative cancer clinics…we don’t know what it takes to convince others. But we can share information, with love.

Astounding benefits of fasting

Hope is immediately ahead! For those of you suffering from some long-term stubborn healing challenges, here are some reports of others who have found dramatic breakthroughs through fasting. Therapeutic fasting allows your body to clean out YEARS of metabolic nitrogenic waste that could not otherwise be removed because of the constant demand for digestion. During the fast your body lives on a secondary energy source; this is called ketosis. Ketosis kicks in and is produced by the liver when the body reaches the fasted state. This happens only through a water fast; it does not occur during a juice fast. Not only does the body heal—the liver itself completely rejuvenates itself because of the change in chemistry.

According to these reports, heavier people lose stubborn pounds and thin people quickly regain their weight after the fast and delightfully find that they add more weight because now their nutrients can reach their destinations. Their thinness was an indication of an absorption problem that was resolved through the fast. Here are some amazing highlights from four books on fasting. If you can only read one, go for the first one:

Healing through diet:
Healing can be accomplished through major dietary changes ALONE, as per thousands of testimonials gathered by Halleluiah Acres and both the Gerson and Hippocrates institutes, but it just takes far longer. Each of the authors of the above cited books on fasting emphasizes that major dietary changes must be established AFTERWARDS, if not before, as a lifestyle change for the rest of one’s life, to KEEP the dramatic gains made through fasting. Their combined seasoned brilliant counsel? Build your food intake around at least one pound of fruits and one pound of veggies PER DAY via juicing once or twice a day and eating one or two major salads per day, and remove the junk. That’ll do it. One woman in her sixties who was wheelchair-bound with Multiple Sclerosis now runs and horseback rides; she literally MEASURED out three cups of greens, meal after meal.

It is mysterious little fruit and veggie WARRIORS called “phyto-chemicals” and “buster-boxer anti-oxidants” that do the HUGE disease reversing battle. No other “food-feller” has these components; ONLY fruits and veggies. There are 1,000’s of these little guys, and 1,000’s more yet to be discovered in each thing called a “fruit” and each thing called a “veggie”. The radically different healing pyramid put out by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and others puts veggies at the bottom—as the largest part of the pyramid—NOT grains. This way of eating is veggie based. Veggies are given the biggest section on your plate.

Healing through fasting:
The fasts described in these books were major therapeutic fasts—not just 24-hour fasts, but instead, lasting between 10 and 21 days. Most of them were 10-day fasts. Fasts longer than that must be supervised by a medical doctor. Shelton alone supervised over 40,000 of them in a Texas clinic in the last century and witnessed great successes over a variety of health conditions. According to these authors, the sensation of hunger passes away after the second or third day. It simply gets easier once that toxic hunger (recreational hunger, comfort hunger) barrier is crossed when the body shifts into big-time house-cleaning.

Fasting addresses the underlying CAUSE of illness, instead of masking the symptoms with drugs. The diet/disease connection is historically well-established in the scientific literature. Chronic debilitating diseases due to poor diet have catapulted well into epidemic levels in recent years in America. Sick people who growing sicker are now desperate for answers. The largest hopeful answer is that life-changing rejuvenation can be obtained by diet-reversal and/or fasting.

Toxic hunger and food cravings are done away with through the fast. The body re-boots and forgets them. Food addictions are just as addictive as cocaine. They are very, very nasty things to overcome. Toxic junk food has hijacked our real taste sense. The water fast makes this job easier. Powerful anti-inflammatory agents are released during a water fast that can reverse even auto-immune diseases. Fasting normalizes and enhances immune function—and eats up benign tumors, metabolic wastes, and stored toxic salt.

Paul Bragg passed 1/3 cup of mercury that had been repeatedly given to him accidentally as a child in his cough medicine. He also got over tuberculosis through fasting. And—just for grins—he fattened up his skinny sister through a fast, as well. She did anything he told her, having already tried everything else with no success. He coached her into exercising massively, too—beginning with short walks and short spurts of all the types of exercise—progressively taking her to the next level.

Joel Fuhrman recovered from a severe foot injury that had badgered him for a year; he had been on crutches with chronically swollen ankles and no solution in sight. His non-healing leg and foot wound from an ice-skating rip of his foot and ankle tormented him for over a year. The day before a second major surgery a year later, he left his hospital bed and fasted, instead. After a 46-day fast supervised by Shelton, he skated his way to a 2nd place win in the 1973 U.S, National Pairs Championship and 3rd at the World Professional Pairs Skating Championship in Spain. Nearly 40 years later, he now can jump from the floor onto the examination table in ONE JUMP.

If nothing else has worked for you, consider trying fasting. The books cited above would offer a recommendation to begin with a one-day fast, then wait several weeks and try a three-day fast, and then wait another month and try another one. Practice these three-day fasts once a month for awhile and then attempt the 10-day fast several months later. In the meantime and in between fasts, eat VEGGIES and fruit—more than you ever have in your entire life. Greens will make you lean and mean smile If you are super-addicted to the wrong foods, just add MORE veggies and fruit. Eat big plates full of these FIRST. Up your QUANTITIES. Don’t eat veggies like a mouse. Move veggies from being a “suggestion” on your plate, to the “main story”. Then eat the junk with your LEFT-OVER appetite and your hunger desires should gradually change. You’ll go from an “eating bum” to a “dining sophisticate”—gaining EXTRAORDINARY health. Your desire for health has to outwit your tamper-tantrum old addictive flesh! Put yourself under new management; try it for one week. Your cells will say “Wahoo!!!’ and your health enemies will tuck their tails between their legs and scamper away, out of you, whimpering as they go.

Here’s a super-duper morning detoxing protocol that is easy to do and costs almost NOTHING. [1.] Upon rising, put about 1 tsp. water in your mouth; swish and pull vigorously. Continue doing this until your mouth muscles just barely begin to ache from the EXERCISE… five minutes or so…. then spit it out. The junk that is pulled through your mucous lining in your mouth may be voluminous. This is helpful for pulling bacteria, fungus, etc. out of your system.

[2.] Wait until your muscles totally relax in the mouth and do it again, but this time with 1/4 tsp. or less of coconut oil. (Note: you only use small amounts of water and oil, because the volume swells as your saliva increases.) The coconut oil pulls out even MORE junk, and often even whitens the teeth. Then spit this out.

[3.] Follow this with drinking two full glasses of water, spaced about 15 to 30 minutes apart. Do all of this BEFORE EATING anything. Talk about CLEANSING out the night’s toxins! It is a wonder that such a simple procedure isn’t taught in EVERY health clinic as just BASIC.

A Thanksgiving your tummy will thank you for :)

This blog is about how to DO Thanksgiving while also building your health, by making wise nutritional choices and having thanksgiving in your heart and in your mouth.

Remember that sluggish feeling after Thanksgiving dinner—when all you want to do is flop onto the couch? Well, that doesn’t have to be!!! If you combine your food correctly your tummy will thank you and you will have none of that aftermath “downer” brain fog fatigue to deal with. You’ll have loads of energy to enjoy each other more.

Proteins and starches use entirely different digestive juices—

proteins need the acidic environment of the stomach, whereas starches

are digested in the alkaline environment of the intestines—so separate them! A turkey can be stuffed with quinoa in order to avoid the bread; fill it out with celery, onion, garlic, spices, etc…

Have your meat and a delicious robust salad one meal, early, then several hours later, for your later dinner, have the potatoes, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. You are going to eat all the Thanksgiving fixin’s later anyway for a light dinner, so it might as well be a continuation of the earlier meal instead of a repeat.

Thanksgiving (the attitude, not the holiday) is an important facet of health. It’s a great time for training our children in thankfulness?. In his book, A Woman’s Wisdom (a book which we don’t, on the whole, recommend however), Rabbi Shalom Arush writes about the value of training thankfulness in a child. Here are some quotes:

* Your child needs to be taught to say a proper thank you to God, to mom, and to dad often even for something as simple as a cup of water. That way, the child learns not to take anything for granted and grows up appreciative, unspoiled, and happy with whatever he has. Such children are never jealous or disgruntled.

* By contrast, parents who don’t require this are almost guaranteeing that their child will acquire terrible character traits—lack of appreciation, an inflated sense of entitlement, jealousy, anger, and ingratitude. The child that never learns to appreciate and say thank-you becomes a spoiled child who is always yelling and demanding to have things that don’t belong to him. Today, he’s maladjusted in kindergarten and tomorrow, he’s a self centered individual that’s on the way to his second or third divorce.

* Parents themselves can become so sick of their own spoiled child’s ingratitude that eventually they stop wanting to give anything to their child.

* The child needs to say the thank you for the child’s own sake. To be required to say it, by wise parents, is good for the soul of the child. God loves our praises not for his own sake but because it looks good on our faces !!! “Praise is becoming to the righteous”. He doesn’t need our praises any more than a parent needs a child’s gratefulness…but the child needs it.

Healing FASTER: A summary of the most current health research

If you are feeling under the weather or are coping with a serious disease and you want to listen in, here are some health tips, laid out for you. If not, skip it smile It is a compilation of research I’ve done over the past two months into the accomplishments of some of the most prestigious healing clinics of the world—and hours and hours and hours of reading current research in the field of alternative medicine. It has been quite the eye-opener.

Many people have been healed by using alternative means.
Enough people have been healed from dread diseases over the past several decades, going the natural route, to draw several conclusions by now. These people number not in the hundreds, but in the thousands. Their determination was iron-willed, their discipline incredible. Their testimonies online and in health magazines and books are RINGING!!! A number of them have said, “I could have done it FASTER if I had known THEN what I know now.” So, how does one heal from a terrible illness FASTER? Below are their collective conclusions. Success leaves trails.

Their winning mindset:


• They would NOT take no for an answer.
They determined to get well—so much so that giving up was not an option. Many had seen relatives die under current state-of-the-art hospitalizations, and were fiery in their grit to not go that route. They were upset about “normal” solution/disasters that they had seen all around them.

• These people were marked by patience.
They did not EXPECT quick turnarounds. They kept their eyes on what they were doing to improve their input into their body on every level, NOT on their symptoms. They did whatever it took, for as long as it took. They were unmoved by their current condition—having visualized their FUTURE healed condition.

They realized that they almost didn’t have to have ANY diagnosis to determine what was wrong with them, because they were aware that ALL diseases have the same negative root causes: an internal chronically acid environment, toxic build-up, a stressed lifestyle with no let-up, dead foods that require herculean amounts of effort to digest with no reward, no sunshine, no exercise, unforgiveness, no faith, etc., etc.

• They understood that addictions lived in them, no matter how refined and unnoticeable.

Food addictions are the strongest addictions known to man, because they are rooted in childhood and in one’s notion of comfort. Comfort foods have a grip on the body that is superhuman to break. These people EXPECTED a fierce battle with themselves, and were their own policemen. They realized that the buck stopped with them and that no one ELSE would experience the RESULTS of their overcoming themselves or of not overcoming themselves, down to minute multiple bodily and mental disciplines.

What they did:


• Ate nothing but raw food for one to two years and MEGADOSED on all superfoods… including spirulina, chlorella, blue green algae, wheat grass, barley green, ginger, turmeric, garlic, lemon, sprouts of all sorts, cultured veggies, acidophilus, vitamin C, chia seeds, flax seed, and hemp seed.
• Replaced ALL sugars, including ALL fruit for VERY ill patients, with nothing but stevia. Sugar feeds parasites, mold, fungus, yeast and CANCER. Simple sugars are disastrous to a compromised system.
• Replaced all salt with celery (nature’s most natural and complete source of sodium) by dehydrating the celery and crushing it to a salt like powder.
• Drank the most pure water they could find—and drank AT LEAST half their body weight in ounces, every day.
• Juiced 2 to 12 times a day (comprised of raw vegetable juices)
And juice-FASTED one day a week.
• Detoxed one organ after another successively, and repeated the process.

They employed every ADDIlTIONAL means possible to heal:
Got healthy sunshine, getting in the sun as much as possible, before 9 am and after 4 pm.
• Sweated out toxins through near- or far-infrared saunas or mineral hot springs or steam baths—and soaked in Epsom salts.
• Deep breathed for five minutes each morning and each afternoon to get a hold of their stress levels.
• Forgave everyone.
Ascertained the continuing sources of CURRENT stress, and WROTE OUT different means of coping with it that would not sabotage their health any more. They reduced ALL stress—from every source.
They avoided almost all media, either for news or entertainment, and captured an old-fashioned lifestyle of serious productive reading, resisting passivity.
Removed all the mercury in their teeth from old silver fillings.
Took out all radioactive toxins by using tinctures and cilantro.
Got *EMF shields to counter electromagnetic frequencies, and top-notch indoor *air purifiers.
Used *essential oils liberally, in place of toxic drugs. This was an alternative HEALTHY pharmacy, with no side effects. They used only therapeutic grade (most oils obtained in health stores are extracted by solvents and can be toxic). They used the raindrop technique to apply certain oils in certain sequences, up the spine.
Got their back straightened by a chiropractor.
Got massages.
Wore *linen. Linen delivers 5,000 positive healing frequencies into your body, as does wool. They didn’t wear linen and wool together, which would have canceled each other’s frequencies out. Our body’s optimum frequency is 100. ORGANIC cotton delivers 100, silk delivers only 15. All synthetic fabrics deliver NEGATIVE numbered frequencies, and fight with our body’s electromagnetic field, compounding our stress significantly. They were fueled by the success stories of others.
They kept these stories continually before them, through health magazines and books and were well-researched and well-read in the alternative health fields in general.
Watch the documentary DVD Forks over Knives (now available from Netflix and in movie rental stores or for purchase or rent from Amazon.com). It documents the largest nutritional study ever conducted. It is fascinating.

They resisted preoccupation.
They realized that MISSED hours to input the body mean delayed and slower healing.
They set a timer to COUNTER the tendency to become preoccupied with all lesser matters, realizing that yielding to the tyranny of the urgent would only leave them in a diseased condition.

They required steady, relentless incremental discipline of themselves, especially when it came to exercise. Routine, consistent exercise increases the rate of healing 8X!!!
They learned to exercise in three ways DAILY (aerobics, weight training, stretching), even if it meant that someone else moved their limbs for them to begin the process.
They began SLOWLY, and did not crash and burn.
They realized that they were addicted to their own sluggishness and LACK of exercise, and that now being ill, they were ACCUSTOMED to doing nearly none, and that there would be a hefty amount of brow beating with themselves to get them to reverse this trend.
They moved into exercise SLOWLY each time, but with iron-willed determination, and increased each type of exercise by only five minutes each week. Their target goals? 3-mile walks, 10 reps in all weight lifting, and stretching every muscle group.

IS there an alternative?
Doing all of this is not an easy journey, but dying is no picnic either. Neither is training for the Olympics. Or raising children. Or writing a book. Or gardening. Or even picnicking! Nothing is easy. We delude ourselves that health is easy, and that it alone SHOULD escape the glories of all other successes, ALL of which are achieved by nothing but discipline. None of them are exempt. For most of us, the biggest surprise of our life was that investing in our health should even BE a goal… until we lose it.

This is the American health conundrum…right here in the Bible: 2 Kings 5:13: “If the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you have done it? How much more when he tells you, wash and be cleansed!” Our culture PREFERS drugs and surgery to the hard work of SELF-discipline.
